Torquay United Women extended their lead at the top of the South West Women's Regional League Premier Division with another convincing win yesterday (Sunday 1 February).

Playing with the Weltch Media logo on their shorts, the Gulls defeated visitors Poole Town 4-0 at the Devon FA HQ in Newton Abbot.

Matilda Franchi gave United an early lead, with further goals from Mollie Taylor (2) and Chloe Pengelly.

"It was a great win yesterday," said our sponsored player Danni Wyatt, currently sidelined with injury.

"Credit to Poole, who have improved massively season on season. So impressed with the girls' performance yesterday and the way they’re moving the ball around is a pleasure to watch.

"We stay focused heading into the next few games and have our eyes firmly on the prize as we reach the halfway point."

Torquay are now three points clear of Forest Green Rovers at top of the league, the fifth tier of women's soccer in England, and are aiming for promotion back to the FA National League.

This season, we are supporting the women's team as shorts sponsor as well as being Danni's long-time sponsor.
