Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock’s post-game press conference hit the headlines at the weekend (January 12) because of a ‘rant’ about Brexit.

In a guest post on the Weltch Media blog, Reece Chambers suggests this wasn’t just an irrelevant ramble, but an illustration of how expertly the 70-year-old veteran can control the media discourse.

Instead of headlines about another poor performance by Cardiff – this time a goalless draw against Premier League strugglers Huddersfield Town – the media focused on Warnock’s comments about Brexit.
