A new book will prove informative for any runner and encourage some to take up the challenge of ultra-running.
That’s the verdict of our senior consultant Andrew Weltch, who reviews The Ultra Mile by Tim Wills in our new blog post.
Andy describes the book as “engaging” and “readable”, covering the benefits and challenges of running in general, before moving on to the practicalities of training for ultra running, and then the author’s personal experiences of some gruelling long-distance events in the Florida heat.
Ultra-running is defined as any distance above a marathon, and even though that may seem unachievable to most, the blog post shares some personal insights about how our perceptions of distance (and what’s achievable) can soon change.
