The script for our upcoming animated film A Fish Out of Water has been selected for two international screenplay competitions.

The screenplay by our Andy Weltch and Robert Lancey, based on Andy's story, has been named in the official selection for the KinoDrome International Motion Picture & Screenplay Festival in Cleveland, Ohio, and the London-based Paperscreenplay competition.

This means the script is now being judged for potential awards in both of these IMDb-accredited competitions.

"To be selected for judging is a great achievement," said Andy. "So, I'm very pleased to hear the script has made it this far in two competitions."

A Fish Out of Water is described as 'a Victorian tale of the fantastical and bizarre' and is set in a West Country fishing village in a slightly alternative version of the 1890s.

Andy and Rob developed the script from a piece of flash fiction, which Andy wrote during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The film is being animated and directed by Matthew Creed and designed by Anthony Richards, with main characters voiced by Robert Daws, Francesca Louise White, Richard Oliver, and Samantha Hudson.

You can find out more on the film's IMDb page.
