United reach cup quarter finals

Torquay United Women, wearing the Weltch Media logo on their shorts, qualified for the quarter finals of the Devon County Cup with a 7-0 win at Tiverton yesterday (Sunday 19 October).

Matilda Franchi opened the scoring in the 20th minute, and it was 3-0 at half-time, thanks to further goals from Evelyn Bray and captain Lucy Palmer.

Katelyn Bell added the fourth at 70 minutes, before a flurry of three more goals in the last ten minutes from Jasmine Barker, Bex McMullin, and Katelyn again.

Torquay now progress to the quarter finals of the Red Rock Electrical Women’s Premier Cup, where they will face Plympton.

United memorably won the Cup in 2022, defying the odds to defeat Exeter City in a thrilling final.
