With the Weltch Media logo on their shorts for the first time, Torquay United women came from behind to clinch a 1-1 tie in the opening game of the league season yesterday (Sunday 7 September).

Despite dominating much of the game, Torquay fell behind when Sophie Sweet fired home a free kick from 30 yards to give hosts Pucklechurch Sports a 1-0 lead at half-time.
United equalised early in the second half, when Matilda Franchi - on her debut - beat the keeper from 12 yards, but the visitors couldn't break through again and had to settle for a point.
Torquay continue their South West Regional Premier Division campaign next Sunday (14 September) at home to Sherborne Town. Kick-off is 2pm at Plainmoor.
The Devon team is aiming for promotion from the fifth tier back into the FA National League, having narrowly missed out last season.

As we reported last month, we won the raffle to be the team's shorts sponsor, with our logo on the shorts for all home and away games throughout the season.
