First background art for our animated film

We are excited to reveal the first background art for our upcoming animated short film A Fish Out of Water.

The artwork by our illustrator Anthony Richards shows the bar in The Wild Rover - a Victorian beer house in a small West Country fishing port, where most of the action takes place.

Anthony has also produced a timelapse video to show how he developed the setting.

Earlier in the summer, we revealed Anthony's artwork for four of the film's main characters - Henry Godliman (voiced by Robert Daws), Lizzie Shepherd (Francesca Louise White), Joseph Carhart (Richard Oliver), and Sarah Babb (Samantha Hudson).

The illustrations will be brought to life by animator and director Matthew Creed.

A Fish Out of Water is described as 'a Victorian tale of the fantastical and bizarre' and is set in a slightly alternative version of the 1890s.

The script, by Andy Weltch and Robert Lancey from Andy's original story, has already been selected in two international competitions, and you can find more about it on the film's IMDb page.
