German film-maker Jaschar Marktanner has created a new short, Vielleicht besser so (Perhaps Better That Way), and our companion arts and entertainment blog Piece of Pink Pie has had a preview.

It's a follow-up to Turing Test, which marked his first film after a six-year break and explored the complexities around artificial intelligence and what it means to be human.

The blog post suggests this new film "feels richer, more nuanced, and perhaps gentler".

Vielleicht besser so follows photographer Clara (Lisa Leonard), whose life seems to be at some kind of crossroads.

After an opening scene with a friend in a cafe, we get a glimpse into her domestic life, before she heads out into the night to capture a memorable photo and encounters a young man, who has missed the last bus.

"It’s a beautifully shot scene, which concludes a fascinating exploration of the mundane and the existential side-by-side," the blog post concludes.

If you have a film project in mind, we could help with the production itself, or with publicity. Get in touch for an informal chat.
