Our film is a finalist for festival's animation award

Our film A Fish Out of Water has been named a finalist at its first film festival.

The short historical fantasy is a finalist in the animation category at the Horsham Film Festival, whose sell-out awards night takes place at the West Sussex town's Everyman Cinema on Friday (4 September).

Winners in all four categories (there are also awards for drama, documentary, and comedy) will be announced and screened on the night.

"This is a great honour for everyone involved," said the film's producer and co-writer, Andy Weltch.

"Horsham Film Festival is well established and has a great reputation among film-makers, attracting many hundreds of entries from around the UK.

"So, to be told we're in the final for the animation awards is a real thrill."

A Fish Out of Water, produced by Weltch Media, is directed by Matthew Creed from a screenplay by our Andy Weltch with Robert Lancey.

Set in an alternative version of the 1890s, it follows Henry Goldliman (voiced by Robert Daws), a 'chronicler of the extraordinary', who arrives in a small coastal town to hear the stories of three sailors, just back from a long voyage.
