SnowShow is a treat for the child in us all

The multi award-winning stage production Slava's SnowShow is touring the UK again, more than 30 years ago after its Moscow debut.

Our award-winning local news site Rhiwbina Info was at last night's (15 October) opening night performance at the New Theatre, Cardiff.

Our reviewer Andy Weltch described it as "a dream-like production, featuring a troupe of clowns unlike any I've seen before - in a show unlike any I've seen before.

"These clowns don't rush about and trip over or fall on their bums. This is much more measured, more thoughtful, more whimsical. Movement is slower, sometimes played out in truly slow motion, and it's not about getting cheap laughs. There are emotions here - there's love, sorrow, and parting.

"But there is plenty of comedy too, as we follow our characters through what is essentially a series of ingenious sketches, creating a full 90-minute story."

He concluded: "This is a night of entertainment like no other - an absolute treat for children and for the child in all of us."
