The multi award-winning National Theatre production of JB Priestley’s much-loved thriller An Inspector Calls is touring the UK again, and is playing at Cardiff’s New Theatre this week (October 18-22).
Our companion hyperlocal site Rhiwbina Info was there to review its opening night, describing it as a “hard-hitting adaptation of a set-text classic” and “a powerful night of theatre, not to be missed”.
The reviewer, our senior consultant Andy Weltch, added: “It’s a play which clearly reflects Priestley’s socialist values and is as relevant in today’s politically troubled times as it was when first performed in 1945, as Britain and the rest of Europe set about rebuilding and reshaping their post-war societies.”
Our companion arts and entertainment blog Piece of Pink Pie has run an interview with two of the cast, Evlyne Oyedokun and George Rowlands.
An Inspector Calls is in Cardiff until Saturday, when it moves to the next stop on its extensive tour, Southampton.
