A new online hub to help prepare students for university life has gone live – and we helped create the content.

University Ready is a collection of resources from all of Wales’s universities to help students get started with higher education.

It’s aimed at people about to enter university and those supporting them – perhaps as a parent, teacher, carer or adviser.

You can search by topic – like study skills, wellbeing and mental health, or student life – by institution, and by subject area, so you can be sure of getting straight to the resources you need.

Funded by Welsh Government, the project is being coordinated by The Open University (OU) in Wales on behalf of Wales’s nine universities, the OU approached Weltch Media to deliver some of the written content.

Our experience in higher education communications has included major web-writing projects for City, University of London and Swansea University.

This time, it was a smaller but vital piece of work to produce the introductory page to the site and an overview, highlighting some of the resources from each university in Wales.

Michelle Matheron, Assistant Director, External Affairs at the OU in Wales, said: “Weltch Media came to us highly recommended and didn’t disappoint. Andrew grasped the concept very quickly and delivered copy just as we wanted.

“It was quite a challenge to identify and weave together the right balance of appropriate content, and we were delighted with what he delivered.”
