Our sponsored Torquay United Women player Danni Wyatt has shared her thoughts on the season so far.

"It's been a great start," she told us, "especially playing so many games at Plainmoor, and now we've been bolstered this week by signing Mollie Taylor and Tee Kaptein, two experienced players who bring a lot to the squad - they raise an already talented squad to the next level."

Mollie, a defender, joins from Exeter City Women, where she clocked up 124 appearances and helped the club to four Devon Cup victories.

Midfielder, Tee returns to Torquay from a brief spell at Marine Academy Plymouth. She previously spent three seasons with United, and last season scored 16 goals in 19 appearances.

Danni continued: "It's really exciting to have them with us and hopefully featuring this weekend against Forest Green.

"I was really pleased with the incredible attendance we had on Sunday. I was really quite emotional because we've been working hard towards that, and I think the girls deserved it, and the club deserved it for all the work they've put in.

"It was a great moment in history for women's football in Torquay. I couldn't have asked for more that day - except the result, but Exeter City are flying two leagues above us, so we did well to keep them to six goals.

"We have another big game this weekend - a six-pointer I would say - against Forest Green, who are also unbeaten. We know what's expected - we need to be pushing for promotion, just like the men."

Weltch Media first sponsored Danni in the 2017/18 campaign, when she helped Torquay to third place in the league and to the final of the Devon Cup and won the goal of the season award.

Danni is currently sidelined with injury, and she has missed the start of the South West League season but continues to be active – not least as a board member at the club.

In 2022, she helped Torquay to a sensational victory in the Devon FA Cup Final and was named club player of the season.

And back in 2020, she was among our friends who featured in the popular lockdown comedy promo video With a T.

This season we are also proud to be the team's shorts sponsor.
