Our media training service – normally delivered face-to-face at a client’s premises or our training hub – has moved online, with participants quick to praise our first session via Zoom.

Along with our friends Memorable Creative Journalism (MCJ), we ran a half-day online session for RCN Wales last week, with our senior consultant Andrew Weltch (whose background is in print journalism and PR), and broadcast consultant, Mariclare Carey-Jones (a highly regarded broadcast journalist, who also runs MCJ Documentaries).

A condensed version of our usual full-day experience, it included hints and tips, a look at how the media is dealing with the ‘covid’ world, and one-to-one media interviews via Zoom, as if for TV.

One of the delegates, RCN Wales Associate Director, Nursing, Policy and Professional Practice, Diane Powles, said afterwards: “It worked really well as a virtual learning event, the small number helped and I found it a great audience mix. You both set us at ease and I felt it was a supportive environment, your combined knowledge and experience of working in the industry offered a really good balance.

“Being interviewed and recorded was such a useful learning experience, I picked up some really useful tips to remember which helped me enormously as I was indeed interviewed the following day!”

As well as running media training for RCN Wales via MCJ for several years, we have organised sessions for business leaders, sports competitors and administrators, and educators in schools and universities.

We always make sure the sessions are relevant to those taking part, and many participants find they are soon putting their new skills to use on TV, radio, online and in print.

We are now making our media training available via Zoom to all clients. If you’d like to know more, please email us

Our media training is designed to be affordable, useful, and fun. See what others have said, and check out this little video.
