We've been back in the training room this week, helping senior firefighters and managers prepare for any potential media interviews.

Mariclare Carey-Jones hosted a day-long media training session for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service yesterday (Wednesday 14 October), alongside our Andy Weltch, and broadcast journalist Chloe Seaton.

They shared tips on how to handle a media interview, especially in a crisis, and looked at the role of the communications team and the rise of social media.

The three then interviewed the delegates for press, radio and TV, based on realistic scenarios, followed by feedback and discussion.

Delegates said they found the training useful and enjoyable - and it boosted their confidence for future real-life interviews.

This was the third in a series of sessions for the service, which is set to continue through the coming months.

We've been running media training for well over a decade and can adapt these sessions to suit any client, online or in-person. We also offer more advanced training with a developing crisis or other scenario.

We aim to make our training affordable, useful, and fun. See what others have said, and check out this little video.

We also offer copywriting and newswriting training online or in-person to help you and your team improve your website, blogs or publications.
