Preparing senior firefighters for the media spotlight

We've been sharing our experience and knowledge to help prepare senior firefighters and managers for any potential media interviews.

Mariclare Carey-Jones hosted a day-long session for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service yesterday (Wednesday 30 September), alongside our Andy Weltch.

They shared tips on how to handle a media interview, especially in a crisis, and then did interviews for press, radio and TV, based on realistic scenarios, followed by helpful feedback and discussion.

The day also included the role of the communications team and the rise of social media.

Delegates said they enjoyed the training and it boosted their confidence. We're now set to deliver more sessions for the service over the coming months.

We've been running media training for well over a decade and can adapt these sessions to suit any client, online or in-person. We also offer more advanced training with a developing crisis or other scenario.

We aim to make our training affordable, useful, and fun. See what others have said, and check out this little video.

We also offer copywriting and newswriting training online or in-person to help you and your team improve your website, blogs or publications.
