A major UK-wide project has launched today (October 1) to improve the lives of millions of people living with respiratory illness – and our client, Swansea University’s SAIL (Secure Anonymised Information Linkage) Databank is playing a key role.

The £4.6m BREATHE Health Data Research Hub for Respiratory Health will transform the way the NHS, pharmaceutical companies, charities and researchers use data to benefit patients.

The UK has the best datasets on respiratory illness in the world, but the data are currently difficult to find, access and use.

BREATHE will make the data more accessible and user-friendly for research, while maintaining the strictest controls around data privacy and consent.
