Our sponsored player Danni Wyatt has welcomed the announcement of a new management team at Torquay United Women FC, where she will remain club captain for the 2024-25 season.

Having been relegated after a season in the FA National League, Torquay are looking to bounce back from the South West Premier Division.

“I’m really excited for a fresh new season at Torquay and really excited to be welcoming the new management into the club,” said Danni. “I’ve sat down and heard some of their ideas and can only be excited for what’s to come. I’m also absolutely delighted to be staying with the Torquay for another season as women’s team club captain.

“I’d like to thank everyone that followed us last season and supported and clapped us as we left the pitch each week. We hope to do more and our aims next season are high. Watch this space – we will be back!”

Club chair Steve Elswood has appointed Lee Mann as manager, after three successful seasons at Liskeard Women FC – winning County Cup twice and gaining promotion to the South West League Premier Division.
He is joined by assistant manager Sam Borthwick, coach Ben Cooper, and Jan Augustynowicz, all of whom were part of Mann’s team at Liskeard.
Goalkeeping coach Jimmy Weeks will stay on, with other appointments to be confirmed.
Tracey Cross who finished last season as player-manager will continue her role as captain for the 24-25.
As well as being club captain, Danni will continue as #hergametoo ambassador and takes on a new youth development role.

This was Torquay’s first season in the FA National League, which includes the third and fourth tiers of women’s soccer in England. United gained promotion after finishing top of the South West Women’s League Premier Division last season.

We first sponsored Danni in the 2017/18 campaign, when she helped Torquay to third place in the league and to the final of the Devon Cup, and won the goal of the season award.

In 2022, she helped Torquay to a sensational victory in the Devon FA Cup Final and was named club player of the season.

And in 2020, she was among our friends who featured in the popular comedy promo video With a T.
