Our former sponsored rugby league player, Kelsey Gentles, is working hard for a return to action in 2024.

Kelsey missed the 2023 season with York Valkyrie in the Women’s Super League to become a mum to baby Maia, but has remained closely involved with the team, as well as continuing her TV work.

“It was fantastic to see the girls lift the Super League title,” said Kelsey. “I watched them put blood, sweat and tears into this season every day, and I couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them.

“I know some will say I missed out, but these girls never stopped reminding me that I was part of this journey too, and I just think now I have another trophy to go with the best trophy in the world – Maia!”

Kelsey has been training hard to regain her fitness levels and is hoping to be back in the team for the start of the season.

We are a long-time supporter of Kelsey and in 2022 became her personal sponsor, with support to cover the cost of her boots, training, recovery skins and supplements throughout the season.

Kelsey helped York to the League Leaders Shield and to the Grand Final that season. And she continued to share her expert insights on TV, including on the BBC’s coverage of the World Cup Final.

This season, her prestigious TV work has included the Women’s Challenge Cup Final at Wembley (main picture) and most recently this weekend (4 November) as part of the BBC team covering the England vs Wales women’s international.

Back in 2020, Kelsey was among our friends who featured in the popular comedy promo video With a T.
